Acadia Professional Learning Launches its First Colorado Natural Medicine Facilitation Cohort
Acadia Professional Learning (APL) is excited to announce the launch of our first-ever Colorado natural medicine facilitation training cohort in January 2025. As Colorado prepares to implement its newly established framework for natural medicine services, we are honored to support the next generation of facilitators through high-quality education and hands-on practicum training.
While Oregon was the first state to create a legal model for psilocybin services, Colorado is now carving its own path. One key difference is in terminology: in Oregon, practitioners in this field are referred to as psilocybin facilitators, while in Colorado, the state recognizes this work under the broader category of natural medicine services. Though the language differs, the core of the work remains the same—providing safe, supportive environments for individuals seeking meaningful experiences with natural medicines.
As part of our expansion into Colorado, APL is partnering with The Center Origin, a healing center in Denver, to deliver the required in-person practicum training mandated by the state. This collaboration ensures that students receive hands-on experience in a supportive setting, learning from experienced professionals who are deeply dedicated to this work. We are grateful to be working alongside such passionate individuals at The Center Origin and look forward to growing this partnership as the field of natural medicine services continues to evolve.
With Colorado’s program is just emerging, now is a critical time for facilitators to step forward and help shape the future of natural medicine services in the state. APL is committed to providing the highest level of training, ensuring that those entering this profession do so with the knowledge, skill, and ethical foundation needed to offer meaningful and responsible facilitation.
We are excited to be part of this moment and look forward to supporting both current and future cohorts in Colorado. For those interested in becoming a facilitator, now is the time to begin the journey.
